The Office of Faculty & Academic Affairs recognizes and celebrates the outstanding contributions of UCSF faculty across the various missions of the University and is proud to directly administer the following awards:
The UCSF Presidential Chair Award
The UCSF Presidential Chair Award encourages new or interdisciplinary program development or to enhance quality in existing academic programs of the University. To meet this broad goal of contributing to the enrichment of campus academic life, UCSF allocates Presidential Chair funding of up to $150,000 to support the appointment of a distinguished visiting professor for up to one year.
The Edward A. Dickson Emeritus/a Professorship Award
The Edward A. Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award honors UCSF emeritus/a professors whose outstanding research, scholarly work, teaching, or public service activities have continued since retirement. Awards up to $10,000 are available to support such activities that benefit the campus and for which funding is not available from other sources. Funds may be over a period of up to two fiscal years.
The UCSF Lifetime Achievement in Mentoring Award
The UCSF Lifetime Achievement in Mentoring Award annually recognizes the outstanding, long-term, commitment to faculty mentoring by a UCSF faculty member who has: a minimum of 10 years of service to the University; has a currently appointment at 51% time or greater; and made significant contributions to the careers of her or his mentees.
